Nikolay Davydenko has taken another shot at Nick Kyrgios as this time the former four-time Grand Slam champion described the Australian as someone who “talks nonsense on and off the court.”
Throughout his career, the 29-year-old has never been afraid to share his opinion or feelings about a particular thing on social media. And while sidelined and recovering from his wrist surgery, the 2022 Wimbledon runner-up had an even bigger platform to voice his opinions since he was working as a commentator and analyst during some of the biggest tournaments this year.
Over the last couple of months, Kyrgios has been very outspoken about the Jannik Sinner doping case. When the Iga Swiatek news dropped, he shared a similar perspective and view.
Asked about it, Davydenko suggested he wasn’t surprised to see the former world No. 13 calling out his colleagues.
“Nick always talks, he’s a showman. He talks nonsense on and off the court and will continue to do so. We’ll hear him more than once,” the 2009 ATP Finals champion said, via Championat.

Davydenko slammed Kyrgios in October
Two months ago, the former Russian tennis star and ex-doubles No. 1 Elena Vesnina teamed up for a conversation about tennis. At one point, the Australian was brought up and that’s when the 43-year-old ripped him as “generally overatted.”
“He is generally overrated. When it was time to play, he was always injured. In short, let’s forget about him,” former four-time Grand Slam finalist Davydenko told BetBoom Tennis.
Vesnina joined in on by saying: “Clown, I agree. But he was incredibly talented and gifted. He had a powerful serve and a superb forehand. But when it came to winning a major title, all that went up in smoke.”
Meanwhile, Kyrgios is set to return to tennis at the start of 2025 after being out for the past year and a half. Ahead of his comeback, the 29-year-old underlined that winning a Grand Slam will be his goal.
