Paige Spiranac and Dan Rapaport on Rory McIlroy’s struggle to maintain privacy

Rory McIlroy has been the main topic of the media for a long time, but the popular golfer tries not to react particularly to various headlines, but prefers to focus on success on golf courses. The popular golfer is not delighted with various headlines concerning his marriage, but the scandal from last year produced such reactions that it is difficult to return things to the old way.

Namely, Rory filed for divorce last year, but shortly after that, he reconciled with Erica Stoll.

Netflix Full Swing, season three, was an opportunity to hear Rory’s take on everything. McIlroy did not want to talk about marriage at all, stressing that privacy is the most important thing for him. However, aware of his popularity on the golf scene, the Northern Irishman had to accept some things.

McIlroy is mostly angry because he is protective towards his family, but in addition, he is angry because the media wants to take his focus away from the tournament and success.

Dan Rapaport reacts

Many important figures in the world of golf supported Rory McIlroy, such as Dan Rapaport, stressed during the documentary that the more popular you are, the more people are interested in you, but also in your private life.

“Aside from whatever impact it had on his personal life, it was just another thing. No one cares about your divorce unless you’ve won majors. That’s life. The more success you have, the more people care about your personal life.”-Dan Rapaport.

No matter how much the 35-year-old tries to stay out of the public eye, at least when it comes to his private life, the media always tries to uncover new information, take an interest in you, and prejudge certain things.

“As much as Rory tried, he could not change the topic of conversation.”

Many colleagues have come to Rory’s defense, such as Paige Spiranac, a well-known golf influencer, who also pointed out that Rory is always ‘in the firing zone.’ Paige is aware that this can only create even more pressure on him.
