Paige Spiranac shares her thoughts on the LPGA’s strict dress regulations

The LPGA makes changes year after year, wanting women’s golf to progress and make big strides. Even eight years ago, LPGA officials surprised many after deciding to change the dress code policy.

Namely, women were not allowed to wear tops with backs, leggings, plunging necklines and workout clothes.

These changes did not meet with positive reactions among female golfers, but also among sports fans.

The LPGA also shared that under the new rules, women must wear skirts and shorts that are long enough.

Paige Spiranac, a well-known name in the golf scene, reacted to such things, believing that the rules are there to be respected. Nevertheless, the 31-year-old expressed her concern for the progress of this sport in the future after such changes.

“I respect and understand that golf is enveloped in tradition and that certain rules and regulations must be upheld. But as both an ambassador for golf and an advocate for the continued progress of women’s rights and equality in society, I fear that these new rules are stifling the growth of the women’s game.” -Paige Spiranac wrote.

Paige Spiranac: As a 13-year-old I never felt comfortable in what I was wearing

Paige Spiranac is known as someone who does not hesitate to dress ‘openly’, which really attracts the attention of the golf public. The 31-year-old often wears clothes with a plunging necklines, and a completely different style of clothing than what the LPGA requires. However, considering that she is an influencer, there is no obstacle for her.

Paige recalled growing up and wearing golf clothes, once feeling confused about the attire. The influencer had a feeling of insecurity, but years later, she found her own style and the path she wants to follow.

“As a 13-year-old I never felt comfortable in what I was wearing, which made me feel very self-conscious and unconfident,”- Spiranac wrote.

The well-known name in the golf scene has no intention of changing her style or moving in a different direction. However, the LPGA is still strict about dress code, and many are wondering if they will ever change the rules they introduced in 2017.

It’s hard to give a straight answer.
