PGA Tour, the most important dates of 2025

With the arrival of The Sentry in Kapalua (Hawaii), a new year on the PGA Tour begins. The new additions to the tournament are the withdrawals of Scottie Scheffler and Viktor Hovland due to domestic accidents. The former suffered glass cuts on the palm of his hand and the latter broke a little finger after a 24-hour trip from Norway to Maui to be present at the event. Unfortunately, the European will have to remain in dry dock for a few weeks.

Pga Tour, news

The field is only 60 players and without a cut. Previously it was called the Tournament of Champions, since only the winners of the previous year competed in it. Now they and the top 30 from the 2024 FedEx Cup final do so. Chris Kirk defends the title this week. There are many names to follow and this is a tournament that is good for checking the evolution of growing players like Nick Dunlap, Ludvig Aberg or Harry Hall, but also for testing the likes of Schauffele, Morikawa, Cantlay, Homa, Clark, Thomas or Matsuyama, among others.

The rules of golf are relatively complicated compared to other sports because they are played outdoors, close to nature and animals. Respecting the rules is a basic element in the game of golf, which, almost always based on self-control and the free conscience of the players, often sees distorted results, sometimes consciously, but often unconsciously or through carelessness, due to the non-observance by many players of the rules of the game. In addition to the rules, golf adheres to a code of conduct, known as etiquette, which generally means playing the game with due respect for the golf course and other players. Etiquette is an essential component of this sport.
