Rafael Nadal’s competitive fire burns bright with E1 racing triumph

Rafael Nadal’s relentless drive and competitive spirit know no bounds! The 22-time Major champion dove into the E1 World Championship last year, showcasing his eagerness to tackle fresh challenges beyond his storied tennis legacy.

Rafa’s participation, alongside other sporting icons, thrust the electric-powered racing series into the spotlight, captivating fans and racers across the globe. Team Rafa wasted no time proving its mettle in this high-speed global arena.

At the Visit Qatar E1 Doha Grand Prix, Team Rafa surged to their first-ever triumph in the UIM E1 World Championship. The tennis legend reveled in the victory alongside his drivers, seamlessly translating his winning pedigree from the courts to the water.

Spanish pilot Cris Lazarraga and Frenchman Tom Chiappe displayed masterful precision, steering their cutting-edge, all-electric RaceBird to glory. Held against the stunning backdrop of Doha’s Pearl Island, the race drew thousands of spectators who marveled at the electrifying spectacle.

Outpacing fierce rivals with a flawless performance, Team Rafa dominated the field. Nadal savored the sweet taste of victory, building on a pair of earlier podium finishes. Having retired from tennis in November 2024, Rafa is now forging exciting new paths.

Balancing quality time with family and friends, the Spaniard is venturing into fresh business and sporting frontiers. His E1 World Championship journey has already yielded success, and wherever Nadal channels his unwavering passion and resolve, brilliance is sure to follow!

Rafa ended his tennis journey as one of the most decorated players of all time. He clinched 22 Major titles between 2005 and 2022 and added 36 Masters 1000 shields to his incredible collection. Nadal could have become world no. 1 at 36 in 2022.

However, injuries and setbacks sent him away from the top for good. The veteran scored 12 victories in 2025 and decided to retire at the Davis Cup Finals at home in Malaga.
