Jannik Sinner will be one of the most anticipated tennis players in 2025, for several reasons, both on and off court, such as the Clostebol doping issue.
Will the Italian be able to confirm himself, starting from the Australian Open, where he will have to confirm a Major title for the first time in his career? These are questions that many are trying to answer: one of these is Rick Macci, former coach of Venus and Serena Williams.
According to the American, a new phase of his career will begin for the Italian. Now everyone expects a lot from him, they praise and glorify him, but according to Macci one aspect will be fundamental for him to maintain this performance.
“The key to Sinner for the rest of his career will be his mental game. Everything around him has changed. Now he feels the glorified air like the Pope and has the same attention as football in Italy. But he is still the Italian flamethrower who plays at the net and competes,2 he wrote in a post on X.

Sinner played a 2024 as an absolute protagonist. The victory of the Australian Open, the US Open, the Nitto ATP Finals, not to mention the ATP Masters 1000 titles in Miami, Cincinnati and Shanghai. The ATP number 1 has had a truly enviable consistency of performance, which makes him, together with his younger colleague Carlos Alcaraz, the tennis player to beat.
The Italian has – as we know well – in hard courts the surface on which he expresses himself best. 16 of his 18 career trophies have in fact been won on this surface. On these courts he is currently the strongest player, giving a feeling of absolute supremacy to his opponents. In 2024 Sinner was able to win 53 of 56 games on hard courts, boasting an impressive 94.6% average.
Of course, on the other side, Jannik had to deal withe Clostebol doping issue: only in 2025 we will know his fate (and his eventual ban).
