Rick Reilly calls out Donald Trump’s golf game: “He cheats and lies on the course”

A few days ago, Donald Trump confirmed that he had won a tournament at his own course, the Trump International in West Palm Beach. His love for golf has never been in doubt, but some are not sure that the US president is really as superior in this sport as is presented in the media.

The Trump golf company has created many great golf courses around the world, and his influence on the golf world is obvious to everyone. However, golf fans question whether the US president is really that good, having different opinions about his performances.

American sports journalist and author of the book Commander in Cheat: How Golf Explains Trump, Rick Reilly, wrote for The Washington Post that Donald is a person who cheats while playing golf, and likes to lie. In addition, he made a parallel between Joe Biden and the current US president, and their success on golf courses.

“If Biden is a six handicap, elephants can Hula Hoop. And if Trump is a 2.5, they can do it on top of flagpoles. He doesn’t just cheat at golf. He throws it, boots it, and moves it. He lies about his lies. He fudges and foozles and fluffs.”-he said, as quoted by Crickey.

Is he really that good?

Last summer, the Republican leader and DeChambeau tried to “shoot under 50” at Trump Bedminster, using an 8-iron on the par 3 101 yards, while most golfers of Trump’s ability hit the 8-iron about 132 yards. His bag contains a 7-wood and a 9-wood, which are typically used for slower swings, indicating his limited abilities.

The US president, on the other hand, does not react much to various headlines and rumors, primarily motivated by his love for golf. The Republican leader is not a person who emphasizes success on golf courses, preferring to practice this sport as a hobby, using his free time.

His granddaughter, Kai Trump, could go pro.
