“Road to Italian Open” racing circuit restarts

After last year’s success, in view of the 82nd Italian Open, scheduled to be held in Tuscany at the Argentario Golf & Wellness Resort from 26 to 29 June, the Italian Golf Federation has decided to reactivate the “Road to Italian Open” competition circuit. The goal is not only to strengthen the connection between the Federation, Clubs and members, but to bring more and more enthusiasts closer to the most important international event of the golf season, included in the DP World Tour calendar.

The winners of the circuit will be rewarded with an invitation to the 2025 Open with VIP hospitality and activities dedicated to them, in addition to participation in the Pro-Am (September 17 at the Golf Nazionale di Sutri) of the Challenge Open and one of the Pro-Am of the Italian stages of the Alps Tour included in the Italian Pro Tour calendar.

From next April 10, the participating Clubs (from a minimum number of 20, up to a maximum of 80) will be able to select a competition to be played between April 11 and May 25, 2025, among those already scheduled in their calendar, or organize an ad hoc one, to be included in the “Road to Italian Open” circuit. At the end of each qualifying competition, four players will be awarded and will have the opportunity to participate in one of the Finals to be held on 5 June 2025, in three different Clubs: Ambrosiano Golf Club, Modena Golf & Country Club, Golf Nazionale.

The Rules of Golf are a set of rules and standard procedures by which the sport of golf should be played. They are jointly written and administered by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, the governing body of golf throughout the world, except in the United States and Mexico, which are governed by the United States Golf Association. An expert committee, made up of members of the R&A and the USGA, oversees and refines the Rules every four years. The latest revision was effective January 1, 2016. Changes to the Rules of Golf generally fall into two main categories: those that improve understanding of the Rules and those that reduce penalties in certain cases to ensure balance. The rulebook, entitled “The Rules of Golf,” is published on a regular basis and also includes rules governing amateur status. In Italy, the Federgolf is responsible for supervising competitions by enforcing the rules issued by the R & A, checking that these rules are observed by the Clubs, Associations and their members and managing the resulting sporting justice, protecting their interests abroad.
