Roger Federer’s agent Tony Godsick says the way Jannik Sinner carries himself on and off the court reminds him of the Swiss tennis icon and also added that the 23-year-old is on “the right path” to maybe even go down as one of the best ever.
In the past 13 months, the Italian has been undoubtedly the best and most dominant player in the game, having won three Grand Slams – three Masters events – the ATP Finals – and he also finished 2024 with an outstanding 73-6 record.

Apart from the well-documented doping saga, Sinner goes about his business on the court and he never does anything controversial or dramatic that draws negative attention to him.
Following his Australian Open triumph, the talks about him dominating tennis for many more years – and potentially coming close to the Big Three – increased.
And now, Federer’s long-time agent is the first to acknowledge that the current world No. 1 has been doing pretty impressive things.
Godsick: Sinner is serious, professional, behaves well – that reminds me of Federer
“At the moment, as a global star, he cannot replace Roger or Nadal. But he is loved by the people, he plays a type of tennis that I like a lot, and he knows how to give his best in the moments that matter,” the mega agent told La Stampa.
“I don’t know if he can become a legend like Roger or Rafa, but he is on the right path… he is serious, very professional, he behaves well on the court and does not do stupid things off it… in this he reminds me of Roger.”
Meanwhile, Sinner has said several times over the years that his biggest tennis regret is never getting a chance to play the Swiss tennis icon.
Just as the Italian was trying to establish himself on the Tour and make a name for himself, the former 20-time Grand Slam champion started battling serious knee issues and didn’t play much in the last few years of his career.
