Scheffler opens up about Xander Schauffele’s return to PGA Tour and the hurdles ahead

Scottie Scheffler returned to Bay Hill, motivated to write a great story. The American golfer celebrated last year at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, with the same intentions this time. It is important to point out that Xander Schauffele, probably his biggest rival last season and world number 3, will also take part in this competition.

At the press conference before the new challenge, Scheffler reflected on the injury that caused him massive problems, but also on Xander Schauffele’s injury.

The American golfer stresses that being injured is a difficult thing, especially when you have a certain routine and if you are in great shape. He is looking forward to Schauffele’s return to golf courses.

“I think it’s challenging any time you’re coming off an injury,” Scheffler said, as quoted by Macon

“That first time you step back out inside the ropes, it’s different playing competition tournament golf, and there’s definitely challenges to it and it takes a little bit of time to get used to. I’m a big routine guy and so being injured and being out of my routine was definitely an unusual thing. Xander’s a guy that’s fairly routine as well so I’m sure there will be some adjustments, but it’s definitely good to have him back out playing.”

Scottie Scheffler talks about injuries

Scottie Scheffler wowed the golf public with his performances last season. Many fans are asking questions, can the 28-year-old be as impressive this year? Scheffler seems to be the main candidate to finish the season in the leading position this year. The popular golfer spoke about injuries again, stressing that it is not a fun thing in his game.

“Seeing guys get injured is never a fun thing to see and you just hope they get back to full strength as quickly as possible. Being injured is not a fun thing in this game.”- he concluded.
