Scottie Scheffler is a golfer who has wowed the golfing public countless times so far. His incredible form last season produced a lot of reactions, but Scheffler has no intention of stopping with great performances. The 28-year-old is motivated to be just as superior this year, but will he succeed?
Lee Trevino, the golf legend, has only words of praise for Scheffler, but points out that Scottie scares him a bit. Namely, experimenting with the putter is not something that Trevino looks forward to, as he is surprised that Scheffler is still experimenting even though he is so dominant.
“He’s just a lovely guy,” Trevino said, guesting on Golf Channel.
“I mean, he’s a super individual. I mean, we couldn’t have a better number one. … He’s unbelievable.
Right now, here’s what scares me, is he is starting to experiment with his putter. He’s experimenting with different putters now, and he’s changed the grip. And winning seven tournaments and $62 million wasn’t enough, god dang it.”
Scottie recently spoke to the media, saying that despite how great he is, he always strives to find ways to improve. The 28-year-old is truly an example of a golfer who doesn’t want to stop at any one success, always hungry for new achievements and feats.
The golf legend then decided to analyze Scheffler’s performances, talking about a potential TV engagement as a golf analyst. The 85-year-old admitted that he studies a lot of golfers and their style of play, stressing that many of them ‘are coming inside now.’

Lee Trevino on Scottie Scheffler cheating
Lee joked, revealing that he told Scottie he is cheating.
“Scottie comes inside more than anybody else because his foot goes back,” Trevino said.
“And when your foot goes back, you’ll come inside more. I told him, you’re cheating, boy, you’re hitting the ball at 8.”
The golf hall of famer really knows how to make the public laugh, and there’s no doubt he would do a great job as an analyst.
