Stefanos Tsitsipas opened up in a live Instagram with fans and told what he had to go through in recent months.
The two-time Slam finalist won the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters, which was the only highlight of a season in which he experienced many difficulties, definitively ending the collaboration with his father Apostolos (from a work point of view as a reference coach). The Greek will focus strongly on 2025 as a year of rebirth and redemption, after a truly complicated season.
“If I have to say something about this year, it’s that I’m very proud of where I am now because my mind has been in very difficult places. Tennis was no longer important to me, going to tournaments was no longer my priority. It was complicated because I never imagined I would get to this point, but I’m happy with myself for how I handled the situations. It wasn’t easy. It was surprising to go to Monte Carlo and win the title again, because inside I wasn’t 100% sure I could do it because of everything that was happening,” he explained.

11th in the rankings, 200 points from the top 10, Tsitsi has never given the impression that he could compete for one of the best eight places to play the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin in 2024. Next year, from that Australia that has always given him opportunities to smile, he will start again with Davis Cup coach Dimitris Chatzinikolaou, who began following him from the American tour.
From the point of view of private life, at the same time, Tsitsipas is living a beautiful love relationship with his Spanish colleague Paula Badosa. The two tennis players are very close and are certainly the most glamorous couple on the tennis Tour. Stefanos and Paula will be from 19 to 22 December at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi for the World Tennis League. They will be on Team Eagles with Iga Swiatek and Hubert Hurkacz.
