Paula Badosa and Stefanos Tsitsipas are the most glamorous couple on the tennis Tour. First, the separation at the beginning of May, announced on their social profiles: a few weeks later, however, the two returned together more in love than ever.
The season just ended saw the 27-year-old Spaniard on the rise, returning once again close to the top-10 of the WTA ranking after the physical problems that seemed to be forcing her to retire. The Greek’s year was completely opposite, falling out of the top-10 and among the most disappointing top players of the season.
The return to success at the WTA 500 in Washington and the excellent results obtained allowed Paula to earn the WTA Comeback of the year award, beating the competition of Naomi Osaka, Emma Raducanu, Amanda Anisimova and Karolina Muchova.
In a post on social media, Tsitsipas congratulated his partner on the award, sharing a beautiful love letter
“My dear Paula, you have worked so hard and shown so much resilience to re-establish yourself as a top-level player this year, and I couldn’t be more proud of you for winning the WTA Returning Player of the Year award. As someone once said, Spaniards never die,” wrote Tsitsipas on Instagram, praising Badosa’s season and her return to the court.

Meanwhile, a few weeks ago, Spanish magazine Hola! interviewed Stefanos and Paula to publicly reveal more details about their love story and how their relationship began.
“I would say the first time I noticed her was when I saw her at the 2020 Australian Open playing on Centre Court. It was love at first sight and from that day on I was completely mesmerized. I remember thinking to myself that one day we would be together,” said the Greek tennis player.
On this, Paula added: “I met Stef right after I got injured. It was one of the hardest seasons for me, because I had never spent so many months without playing tennis. He gave me the happiness, support and fresh air that I needed so much at that time. The truth is that I felt very lucky that a little bit of light came into my life in such a dark moment.”
Stefanos revealed some commonalities that have strengthened their relationship, explaining: “The truth is that we have had very similar lives. From the moment we picked up a racket as kids, our path to professional tennis has been pretty much the same. Personally, I come from a country that doesn’t have a history or much experience in tennis.
For me, it hasn’t been an easy journey to be here and meet Paula. I think if it weren’t for tennis, we wouldn’t have met. We have both fought hard to be among the best in the world in our field. We are both clear and know that later on, the time will come to enjoy all the rest of our moments as a couple.”
