Taylor Fritz has major advantage over all his rivals in Miami

Taylor Fritz knows he has a very significant chance at the Miami Open this year. The American ace has not shined in this first segment of the season, partly due to a knee injury that forced him to miss the Acapulco ATP 500 and did not allow him to be at his best at the Indian Wells Masters 1000.

The world No.4’s shape is improving as the days go by, and his triumph against Denis Shapovalov in the third round in Miami has given him access to the round of 16, where he will start as a clear favorite against Adam Walton (who was adept at taking advantage of a favorable draw section).

Given the absence of Jannik Sinner in this tournament and the untimely elimination of several top players – including Carlos Alcaraz – Fritz has a chance to achieve a truly prestigious result in the second Masters 1000 in 2025.
The 2024 US Open finalist has made major improvements in recent months, reaching his first Slam final in New York last year and also hitting the final at the 2024 Nitto ATP Finals in Turin.

Fritz is very ambitious

Fritz’s next goal is to win the second 1000 of his career after winning Indian Wells three years ago.

“There’s a very strong group of American players, and I don’t think you have to wait very long before any of us win a Grand Slam title. I myself came very close to achieving this feat at the US Open, so I just have to be patient and keep working hard to be ready”-Fritz explained.

Living in Miami, Taylor has an advantage over all the other players, “I feel really good here. My house is located closer than the hotels where everyone is staying. I can drive my own car to get to the tournament and sleep in my own bed at night. I have always felt very comfortable in these conditions.”

Fritz confirmed his ambitions and will do his best to make his run in Miami last as long as possible.
