Team Cup victory: Fleetwood praises teammates and captain Justin Rose

The GB&I team managed to win against the Continental Europe team led by Francesco Mollinari. The hero of the Great Britain and Ireland squad was the experienced Tommy Fleetwood, who won the decisive point for GB&I with a victory against Mathieu Pavon.

In an interview with the media, the 33-year-old Englishman pointed out that this tournament was a great experience for him, and he was especially delighted with the play of his colleagues who showed a desire for success. This tournament will certainly be a huge motivation for the Europeans and a great way to prepare for the Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black this year.

“What an unbelievable group of lads we had this week and an unbelievable captain,” said Fleetwood, as reported by DP World Tour.

“A pleasure to be a part of it, and everybody just played so well.

I always find it very motivating and inspiring being around the lads in a team environment, and you want to get the best out of yourself for the team. Just happy we got it done this time and I’m sure we’ll enjoy it later.”

Fleetwood is impressed with Justin Rose

The captain of the GB&I team was Justin Rose, a man who has a lot of experience behind him. Tommy only had words of praise for him as a golfer and leader, and the two have a good relationship outside of the golf course. Rose showed his leadership skills this time, helping the squad to exploit the weaknesses of the opponents and create success.

“For me on an individual level, I’m so close to Justin, I think so highly of him. He’s one of my closest people out here, and he has been for a long time.

I think he’s been a phenomenal captain. I think seeing his insights on how he views certain situations, how he sees the way the week pans out, I think you’re constantly learning off him, and he was great.”- the Englishman concluded.
