The 2024 NCAA champion Texas A&M women’s tennis team closed out their run at the Weinman Foundation Invitational (played at UH Tennis Complex, this week) with a 28-7 overall record, closing with a triple doubles win.

The All-American Nicole Khirin and freshman Lexington Reed each earned two wins, earning their first win over Hawaii’s Peppi Ramstedt/Sheena Masuda, 7-5. The Aggies then faced Hawaii’s Ana Vilcek/Nikola Homolkova, defeating them 6-2. Lucianna Perez/Daria Smetannikov claimed the tournament final win for Texas A&M, defeating Joelle Lanz/Emma Forgac, 7-6(7).

Khirin and Kupres both earned their first singles wins of the 2025 season and were a perfect 3-0 on the week alongside Perez, Reed, Smetannikov and Mireles. In doubles, A&M was 9-6, with Perez/Reed and Khirin/Reed both 2-0 in the tournament.

Head coach Mark Weaver said after the win: “We’re really happy with how our time here in Hawaii went. We had a lot of good practices and, more importantly, we were able to play a lot of matches, which will give us a great start to the season.”
