Tiger Woods uses humor to highlight Scottie Scheffler’s greatness

The Hero World Challenge this year attracted enormous public attention, thanks to the big names in this tournament, but also to the great performances of individuals. Even before the start of the tournament, the greatest emphasis was on whether Tiger Woods and Scottie Scheffler could be ‘heroes’ of this tournament.

This indicates that Scottie and Tiger were the main figures even before the start of the tournament, but also during the tournament. Given that Tiger did not perform this year, the attention of the golf courses was taken over by the 28-year-old American, who celebrated dominantly.

At the end of the tournament, Scottie was under strong emotions, marking this experience as surreal. He is especially happy that the host of this tournament, Tiger Woods, handed him the trophy.

“It’s surreal almost when you get in the same room with Tiger, but even more surreal having him hand you a trophy at the end of the day.”- Scottie Scheffler said, as quoted by Essentially Sports.

Scheffler celebrated in this tournament last year as well, and had the opportunity to watch Tiger Woods compete with him. The 28-year-old, growing up and playing golf, looked up to Tiger Woods as an idol. Tiger is a man who during this period delighted the golf public with performances, victories, and impressive results.

His successes on the golf scene will be talked about in the years ahead. Scottie is motivated to make the same successes, even though it will be challenging. Such a feat requires mental strength, focus, training, and self-belief. Looking at Scheffler’s performances this season, he seems to have it all.

“I grew up idolizing the guy and have learned so much from him.”- he said.

Tiger Woods made golf fans laugh, and at the same time showed respect for Scottie. After the tournament, Woods said: “I am glad I didn’t play.”

Tiger Woods wanted to show how dominant and great a golfer he considers Scheffler to be. Woods laughed again, saying he felt he made the right decision not to play in the Hero World Challenge this year. Regardless of what Tiger is joking about, fans eagerly await the return of the 48-year-old to golf courses.

After Scheffler’s phenomenal season, many people ask whether the success of Scheffler’s season can be compared to some of Woods’ successes. The 28-year-old is of course far from Woods’ records, but he will have a chance to try to break what Woods has been building for years. He has an extremely difficult task ahead of him, and pressure of such a nature that it is certainly not good for him.

Scottie fans don’t have to worry about that, as the great golfer has admitted many times before that the pressure is not a problem for him. Scheffler points out that he does not think too much about the results, as he is primarily motivated by the results on the golf course and giving the maximum.

In March of this year at Sawgrass, Scheffler spoke of Woods in superlatives, happy to be able to play next to him. The American is aware that he has to win 14 more Majors and 70 PGA Tour events if he wants to achieve what Woods did.

Scottie Scheffler: I have only reflected a little bit but it has been pretty surreal

Scottie was full of emotions throughout the tournament, describing the experience as surreal. The American golfer is pleased and excited to spend time with his family again and make the most of his vacation.

It’s hard to have the right words for the season behind him, given that probably even he didn’t expect things to go in this direction. Scheffler enjoys the competition, but as we have already said, he does not want to think too much about the records that need to be broken.

“It has been a fun year,” -Scottie said.

“I have only reflected a little bit but it has been pretty surreal. I don’t play for legacy and that kind of stuff, I just love competing. I don’t think about records, achievements, I just come out here and try to get the best out of myself. Golf is a pretty difficult game.

I do my best to stay in the present. I am very grateful for the wins but when I go home, I am looking forward to doing things that don’t involve golf.”

It’s great to see two great golfers respecting each other. It will be interesting to see what we can expect from Scheffler next season. Also, we hope for a return of Tiger Woods soon. It would be interesting to watch the two of them clash on the golf course.
