Tyrrell Hatton: I don’t want to be boring like everyone else

The PGA Tour, DP World Tour, as well as LIV Golf are clear in their intentions to show another side of golf. Namely, the leaders of these Tours feel that the fans, especially the younger population, are a bit tired of what is the essence of golf.

This is the reason why they want to make this sport more interesting, focus on social media, and open a new chapter. There are many golfers whose character and entertainment factor will be important in this story, and Tyrrell Hatton seems to be one of those who can take the lead.

The experienced golfer drew attention on the final day of the Dubai Desert Classic tournament, after he broke the tee box and received a warning from the officials. However, what particularly attracted attention were his statements afterwards.

The 33-year-old Englishman stressed: “I don’t want to be boring like everyone else.”

Although older fans do not favor this approach of the golfer, as well as Tour’s, it is clear that Hatton knows how to provoke reactions, which seems to be a major factor in today’s modern age of the sport.

There are stereotypes around the world that golfers are boring guys, but golfers like Tyrell want to change that image.

Hatton was candid after the round, saying he didn’t want to lose the fire he has in him.

“Hopefully I can be a little bit more patient out there when I need to be and still maintain that fire,” Hatton said, as quoted by Telegraph.

“Because if I lose that, then I’ll just be boring, like everyone else.”

Tyrrell Hatton explains his reaction

Although Tyrrell is aware that he makes mistakes at times, his passion and desire for success sometimes cause impulsive reactions and strong emotions that he cannot hide.

“Yeah, I was spoken to about what had happened when I signed my card. I don’t have an issue with what was said. I mean, I’m aware that it’s not the right thing to do. But in the heat of the moment when you’re frustrated, you just do things that you probably wish you didn’t do. But I’m not going to let it bother me for the rest of the day. I mean, if that’s the worst thing I do as a human, then it’s not that bad.”
