Iga Swiatek went through a very unpleasant situation before her Miami Open third-round match as a person described as an obsessed critic and hater came to her practice session and hurled some pretty disgusting and personal insults.
Before beating Elise Mertens 7-6 (2) 6-1, the five-time Grand Slam champion hit the practice court to do some work with her coach Wim Fissette. All of that was followed by a man in the stands who is a Polish native – lives in Florida – and has a history of targeting the WTA world No. 2 through social media.
Apparently, the man in question mocked Swiatek by asking her from the stands about her relationship with her mother. For context, the Pole’s parents divorced several years ago and there have been rumors in Poland that she and her sister cut ties with their mother.
This obsessed Iga hater went to her training in Miami and yelled things at her about her personal life and mother. Can the organisers do something about this?

“Tomorrow I’m going to Miami. I’ll ask Igushka about her relationship with her mother. Do you have any questions for Daria, because I’ll ask them at training,” the man wrote on X before his account was deleted.
The heckler also targeted Swiatek’s sports psychologist Daria Abramowicz
“Iga complains to Daria that the hooligans are shouting from the stands and asking questions about Iga’s mother. Iguszka is clearly upset. Almost like the scouts when you mention Iguszka’s lack of relationship with Mrs. Dorota!” the person in question wrote in another post that is no longer available.
It is not hard to guess that tennis fans were enraged to see this kind of behavior. Reacting to the scene, many described the heckler as “a sad person” and someone who is probably very unhappy with his life.
According to reports, the man also planned to be in the stands for Swiatek’s match against Mertens but he was stopped after the Pole’s team alerted the organizers. Still, a bodyguard was spotted sitting in the 23-year-old’s box during the match.
