Is Novak Djokovic still able to win a Grand Slam title? This is the question that fans and insiders are asking themselves ahead of the 2025 season. The former world number 1 is coming off a fairly complicated 2024, during which he also had to undergo knee surgery due to an injury suffered at the French Open.
The Serbian legend had two big goals in 2024: to win her 25th Major title by detaching Margaret Court in this special ranking and to win the gold medal at the Paris Olympics. The 37-year-old from Belgrade had been chasing this milestone for many years and it seemed that it had become a curse after the atrocious mockery in Tokyo in 2021 (he lost to Zverev in the semifinals).

Against all odds and on a surface not congenial to his game, Nole played a perfect Olympic tournament without losing a single set. His performance against Carlos Alcaraz in the final left the whole world speechless, further testimony to the greatness of this champion.
In the rest of the season, Novak did not find the usual consistency and suffered several shocking defeats in second-tier tournaments. In Grand Slam tournaments, he did not particularly shine except for the final reached at Wimbledon despite not being in top shape (he lost to Alcaraz for the second year in a row).
The current world number 7 wants to return to play his best tennis in 2025 and for this reason he has decided to hire Andy Murray as a coach. The former Scottish champion will follow him during the Australian Open, one of Nole’s favorite tournaments, which he triumphed ten times at Melbourne Park.
Nole can still win a Major
Many argue that tennis is no longer a priority for Djokovic after his Olympic victory, but the Serbian has denied this speculation and issued a clear warning to all his rivals ahead of next season.

During a conversation on Eurosport, three former players and top analysts such as Mats Wilander, Alex Corretja and Laura Robson discussed Nole’s chances of winning another Grand Slam title.
“Novak Djokovic will win another Grand Slam is my prediction,” the Swede legend said.
“He can win any of them,” the Spaniard stated.
“Yeah. He’s got Andy Murray as his coach, he’s got to win a Slam,” Robson said.
Djokovic will play doubles with Kyrgios
Novak’s 2025 will start in Brisbane, which will be a very useful tournament to assess his condition against dangerous opponents. The 24-time Grand Slam champion will not only play singles, but also doubles alongside Nick Kyrgios. The Australian ace has been the center of attention in recent months, although he has not played a single match.
The 2022 Wimbledon Championships finalist has harshly attacked current world No. 1 Jannik Sinner for his doping case. Nick didn’t just criticize the Italian ace, he took an almost obsessive approach that infuriated Jannik’s fans (who called on the ATP to take action against him).

According to top analyst Guido Monaco, Nole should avoid playing doubles with such a controversial figure.
“His statements were heard by Djokovic who, by deciding to have this relationship with him by playing doubles with him, corroborates Kyrgios’ point of view on Sinner: it’s like saying that he validates what Kyrgios thinks” – Monaco explained.
“This relationship that he continues to maintain after the statements of Kyrgios, who is a negative character for tennis, bothers me.
I am for ignoring Kyrgios. If there has to be this match, Sinner will treat him like a normal opponent and we should do the same by ignoring a person who has always spat on tennis.
Let’s treat him for what he is: a problematic guy who has done more harm than good to the world of tennis, let’s not give him the weight that he doesn’t have on such important issues, we have to talk less about him because otherwise, we are playing into his hands” – he added.
The former world No. 1 didn’t have a good relationship with Kyrgios until a few years ago, but the situation improved after their final at Wimbledon in 2022.
The two champions have become very good friends and often exchange nice words during interviews. The talent from Canberra is returning to the tour after a nearly two-year absence and will also participate in the AO, while Novak needs to find a rhythm after missing the last official tournaments last season.
The Serbian legend has not played an official match since the final of the Rolex Shanghai Masters lost to Sinner in October. It is already known which tournament Nole will play after the Happy Slam. Under his new partnership with Qatar Airways, the former world No. 1 will participate in the Doha ATP 500 in February.
