For several days now, the main news in the world of golf has been the negotiations between the PIF and the PGA Tour in the White House, with Donald Trump as the mediator in this story. The US president has shared the position many times so far that he is ready to help both sides, aware that this is the best thing for the future of golf.
Although the golfers and officials from both sides shared positive emotions after leaving the White House, as well as later in the talks, it seems that things are not as perfect as they first seemed. At least according to Golfweek’s Eamon Lynch.
In a conversation with various sources, the well-known reporter found out that the talks did not go as expected.
Who is the main culprit? Judging by his words, PIF governor Yasir Al-Rumayyan is a man who obviously looks first at himself and his goals, and only then at the world of golf.
“Rumblings from informed sources suggest that Thursday’s meeting at the White House didn’t go as well as Tour executives had hoped, which suggests that PIF governor, Yasir Al-Rumayyan, remains determined to keep shoveling cash into the furnace of his own pridefulness,” Lynch said, as quoted by FOX Sports.
Alarming situation: What can we expect?
The situation is confusing, it must be admitted. Fans are asking whether individuals are stressing that things are going in the right direction solely for the sake of the media and the desire to reduce the pressure on negotiations, or whether the situation is alarming. Their concern is the fact that the negotiations have dragged on, given that they should have resolved matters and reached a final agreement much earlier.
Various information is coming in, but even if the talks were not beneficial, it will soon become clear. Someone will obviously have to give in and realize that compromise is the key to success.
Until then, we must be patient and hope for the best outcome, not only for the fans, but also for the golfers.
