What is First Ball Forehand (FBF)? FBF is a place for tennis players and fans who love the game to talk about all things tennis. So rather than bombard your friends and families with non-stop tennis talk, come here instead!
The format of the posts can be anything, but often we’ll use a simple best of 3 or best of 5 debate. Each post will start by declaring its point. Both sides of the argument will then be debated with each side potentially winning sets. Who wins the match will then be decided by either first to win 2 sets or first to win 3 sets. Let’s do our first one:
FBF is needed and will be a desired online community
Format: Best of 5
Set 1: The world is full of heaviness and drama and hardship. We need a place to just talk tennis and escape from all of the stress – For FBF wins set 1
Set 2: Internet and blogosphere is flooded. It’s a pay for play world. Unless you have major marketing dollars, no one’s going to just find this and join in. “A” for effort, but won’t work – Against FBF wins set 2
Set 3: What is success? If this site gives even a few people, maybe even just me some satisfaction, it’s worth it. It’s all part of a journey. Take it with me or not, but I’d argue taking the journey is already a win – For FBF wins set 3
Set 4: That’s great, except if this is your personal journey, you’ll tire of it and move on. It won’t work long term and have a lasting effect. It’s human nature. We get fired up about something, then move on – Against FBF wins set 4
Set 5: There aren’t enough “tennis nuts” out there. People like you who study the game, admire the beauty of it, the geometry, the athleticism and finesse mixed with power just don’t exist. You’re in your own world. Talk away, no one is listening – Set 5 goes to Against FBF
Winner: Against FBF – FBF will not find an audience and become a desired online community
